Residency: Atelier Jolie NYC September 2025

A residency at Atelier Jolie never disappoints. Our third experience in New York with the Atelier was an opportunity to once again connect and have fun with great people starting with our hosts Helen, Joseph and G. Eating and drinking some delicious goodies from Eat Offbeat, the amazing cafe inside the building. This stay has ended with us connecting with students, teachers, designers and lovers of art and reconnecting with several of Simon's past students and peers from years gone by.

Within a couple of days of landing we went to the Atelier to set up shop. Our boutique on the top floor and our print studio in the basement, we soon made it our home away from home.

The workshops were a joy. The classes were limited to six spots where each participant would bring in a garment and we would explain our techniques of print and assist in the printing process. Everyone walked away with a refreshed garment they will enjoy for years to come. I cannot express enough what a joy it was to have conversations and make friends with so many people who were genuinely excited to learn and engage. I'm looking forward to seeing many of them on our next trip.

Our one on one appointments were a more intimate setting where Simon and I would spend a few moments with the client discussing what would be best for the article brought in. All of the garments are now rehabilitated into what we hope to be a favorite and cherished. We are looking forward to working with all one on one clients to add to their collections of WSMR one of a kinds.
